Cannes Day One - 8 May 2018

Today was our first day as attendees at the Cannes Film Festival.  We explored as much of the festival as we could -- the American Pavilion, the Market, the Palais.  Seeing the hustle and bustle at every corner was surreal -- unlike anything I have ever seen. I did not see any movies today, but we did explore the various booths in the market including the virtual reality booths.  After that, we got dressed up in our formal dresses and we begged for tickets for the Opening Ceremony and for Todos lo Saben (Everybody Knows).  Unfortunately, a couple hours went by, and we had no luck.  But, we were not discouraged because we knew that tonight was going to be one of the most difficult tickets to get.   All in all, it was a great day. I am constantly trying to slow down in the midst of the craziness and take in the idea that we are here -- in France, at a film festival where history has happened and will continue to happen.
