Cannes Day Eleven - 18 May 2018
Today was not very eventful. I got to the festival and immediately headed to the American Pavilion to work on my long review and my short review. I got them both done in a reasonable amount of time. Then, a group of us headed to a food truck to get some food. I got a sandwich and just ate the meat and cheese out of it because at this point, I am very tired of bread. Then, we headed to the Marriott to get in line for a film called Mandy that Nicholas Cage stars in. I just wanted to watch it to laugh about, but, turns out it was very freaky. It was very hard for me to watch, so I left about 50 minutes in. It was my first time leaving a film early, but there was no way I could have stayed longer.
Before the film started, I was talking to Reagan about the film he saw earlier -- Arctic, directed by Joe Penna. Long story short, it turns out he was sitting right in front of us with the screenwriter as well. We talked to them for quite awhile about their process and it was very interesting. They were super nice and gave us some really good advice. Also, I ended up walking out of the movie around the same time when they did. They were very great people and although the movie did not work out, I am glad I went because I got to meet them!
